Electronic-rock quartet I:Scintilla have released “Marrow 2” the second EP from the band’s new “Marrow” series. This installment features four new studio recordings that mark a significant progress in the band’s sound and direction. Groove tracks like “Ruin” and “Drag Along” coincide with high-tempo stompers “Skin Tight” and “Sequins & Pills.” Meanwhile, four interesting remixes highlight flavors of electro-funk, stompy industrial/EBM, and experimental dubstep chaos. Definitely something for everyone!

The band also released the video for the single “Skin Tight”. Filmed at a warehouse in Chicago, and directed by Chris Folkens, the video for Skin Tight invokes a sense of desperate frustration. In the video’s narrative, as dark and aggressive as the track, the audience is witness to the band being detained and subjected to various disagreeable procedures by a shadowy character referred to only as “The Fire Suit Man”.

It’s really a commentary on the vapidness of modern music in general but the underground electronic scene in particular. In the end, with the reprogramming of the band and the destruction of their instruments, the musicians are rendered obsolete.
